Who’s Responsible for This Mess?
You clicked on this because you wanted to know “about” some combination of things, possibly including who I am or what I think I am doing here and generally wot’s all this then.
Is BetterLazy an AI thing?
No. It’s an old joke. I used to be in a band called Good Lazy System. This is a next thing after that, so, what’s after Good? Exactly. The band was named after a composing trick that we used, but don’t tell anybody. It’s a secret.
Also, and I’m only saying this for the avoidance of doubt, I don’t use AI or LLMs or GenAI or any similar tools to make this stuff. It comes from my own little pea-brain and noplace else.
So, what’s here?
This is a collection of fiction. New ones post about once a week. Every one of them will have an audio version containing the written words, all read out loud and nice, mostly always with some little music added behind for atmosphere.
Who did the work on the audio versions?
Audio versions were read by the people credited. That often includes:
Ruth Gibbs, Speaking Voice
James Gibbs, Piano (and piano compositions)
Izzy, Cello (and cello compositions)
Ben Gibbs (generally other things)
Not that I care, but who are you?
My name is Ben Gibbs. I write the words here. I write words other places also. Don’t take anything here as advice of any kind. This isn’t legal, technical, or good advice. In the end, you’re on your own and I’m not your lawyer, your mom, or even (chances are) your friend. The things I write here have nothing to do with things I write elsewhere, and they do not represent the opinions, attitudes, or wishes of any employer, associate, or other person including myself. I wish you the best and I want you to have joy.
Any dire warnings?
Everything here, even every real thing, is fiction. All of it. This web page, other web pages, me, you, the moon. It’s all fiction. Don’t take these things seriously and never tell anyone you read anything true here. This is a place for fictions, not half-truths.
Well, cool. On that note, I gotta-
If anything you read here makes you think of a specific, real person, you have misread it, and should reconsider. To the extent such resemblance is “real,” it is some combination of coincidental and unintentional.
Yeah. I gotta go.
And probably opinion, but don’t get me started.
Bye!
Goodbye!
