Let’s Read the Thing Together, Part 1 of 21

This is:

FirstPrevNextLast

I don’t much think I’m a good podcaster. I’m happy to engineer a podcast (hello, 42Cast!) but I mostly don’t have anything anybody wants to hear in a tone of breathless enthusiasm. However, I have opinions and my tiny allotment of acquired skill, and I hope I can provide the very smallest social benefit with it.

I live in the United States where we have a document called The Constitution. It is the supreme law of these United States, which is itself a worthwhile point.

I have taught the Constitution, as a subject, to people who work in the law. I have litigated the Constitution as a profession. However, I am writing now as a citizen of these United States (an “American”), not an attorney. I present this endeavor to you for entertainment, education, and edification, not as legal advice.

Nothing here is legal advice. When weighing the legal value of this project, treat it like a civics lesson from your weirdest cousin or least-trusted stranger.

That said, I do not believe that the average American has read the Constitution. I do not believe that the average American has taken much time to parse the Constitution. I believe the average American has the capacity to do both.

I have a very small platform. So, let’s you and me get together and read the damn thing on that platform.

I’ll read it out loud here over the coming weeks. I’ll add some little discussion and jokes after, as I see fit. You can come back whenever you’re bored or curious and see how much I got wrong.

But if you need legal advice, look elsewhere.

I’m not your lawyer.
